Tesla Roadster Specs ‘Will Be Better’ vs Model S Plaid: Elon Musk

In a tweet on Wednesday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk told his followers that the “Roadster will be better.” The reply was in response to a fellow user asking Musk how the company would incentivize the Roadster after the release of the legendary Model S Plaid.

The news, or hint at news, at the least, set Twitter ablaze with ideas, thoughts, requests, and even rebukes for the Tesla CEO.

The new Roadster was on display at Battery Day, alongside Cybertruck, ATV and Semi:

The tweet was also shared to the r/TeslaMotors subreddit, where users commented their thoughts and ideas about what the new Tesla Roadster might have in store.

One user commented, “The Roadster, being smaller and lighter, will likely achieve marginally better acceleration in it’s base (no Space X package) form, in addition to having better range.” They continued, “Plus the Roadster being built from scratch will no doubt have new tech the S won’t get that will make the package better.”

While Musk’s tweet certainly leaves some room for creative liberties, upcoming iterations of Tesla’s roadster will surely compete with the Model S Plaid, given the price points of each and the general luxury of the Roadster.

It isn’t clear yet what Tesla’s new Roadster specs will be, although I think it’s safe to assume now that it will be better than it is today.
