Tesla 2020.36 Speed Limit Signs Detection Feature Skips Canada for Now

In late August, Tesla started rolling out its 2020.36 software update, bringing speed limit signs detection, along with a green traffic light chime and more.
As the 2020.36 Tesla software update has been rolling out to Canada, many Canadians have realized the speed limit sign detection doesn’t work here, yet.
According to Tesla hacker @greentheonly, he said on Tuesday the speed limit signs feature in 2020.36 is only available for the EU, UK and the United States for those with HW3.
so on 2020.36…
Speed limit signs are EU+UK and US, but not Canada? hw3-only
Japan gets extra visualizations on hw3 (stop lights, road markings)
AU/NZ and Canada get "running a red light/stop sign warning."
everywhere with stop-control support gets the "green-light chime"— green (@greentheonly) September 1, 2020
So I just tried the speed sign reading code and it seems to be doing "nothing" at least on highways.
Sure, when speed limit sign matches what the car already knows – the sign is displayed.
But when it does not match the db – you see nothing

Australia, New Zealand and Canada do get a “running a red light/stop sign warning” though.
As you can see in the image above shared by Petko H. To the Tesla Model Y Canadian Facebook group, 2020.36 release notes in Canada do not include mention of Speed Assist Improvements.
For the U.S. release notes, Speed Assist Improvements are listed below Green Traffic Light Chime.

It’s not uncommon for Canadian Tesla owners to wait for the latest features for Autopilot. Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control didn’t arrive in Canada until early June, after first debuting in the United States back in April. Have some patience and soon the speed limit detection feature should make its way up north, as Canadians are probably asking CEO Elon Musk when the feature will arrive here.
