Tesla Messages Owners in Path of Hurricane Laura to ‘Stay Fully Charged’
The great thing about owning a Tesla is the electric vehicle is connected to the internet 24/7, which also means you can get messages from the company during important events.
We previously saw Tesla message owners in California warning about rolling blackouts, but the latest message is instructing those in the path of Hurricane Laura to “stay fully charged”.
According to an image shared by u/gravityfallsfanatic on Reddit, the message from Tesla reads, “A storm could impact areas of the southern United States beginning in the next 24 hours and lasting through the week, which may affect power to charging options.”

“We recommend charging your Tesla to 100% today and incorporating charging into any travel plans to ensure your drive remains uninterrupted. As always your touchscreen will display live statuses of Superchargers in your area—simply tap on a desired Supercharger station to confirm its availability,” reads the pop up notification sent to owner vehicles.
During tropical storm Isaias, one Tesla solar and Powerwall owner was able to get nearly one week of non-stop backup power, a story that was shared by Tesla’s official Twitter account and CEO Elon Musk.
If you’re in the path of Hurricane Laura, stay safe and get yourself charged up while finding some shelter.
