There’s some good news and some bad news for anyone who wants to see a new Tesla factory in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The bad news: Tesla has some strong incentives being offered to them in Austin, Texas. The good news: the company still hasn’t made a final decision on the location of their new factory. The even better news: efforts to bring Tesla to Tulsa, Oklahoma have not slowed down.
A new campaign called “Tulsa Says Yes” has already received over one thousand signatures on its petition. The campaign’s website leads with a strong, encouraging quote taken from a headline on TulsaWorld: “Don’t let the silence fool you. Tulsa still in the running for Tesla factory, state official says.”
The campaign’s approach is not dissimilar from past attempts made in Tulsa. Using a series of humorous appeals and factual statements, Tulsa’s efforts to attract a new Tesla factory have remained consistent over the past few months. Tulsa Says Yes aims to send all of its responses to Tesla CEO Elon Musk. The petition submission form includes an area where people can answer the question “What is your dream car?” Among the options are the Tesla Model S, the Tesla Cybertruck, and a ticket to Mars.
