The Cybertruck just might be Tesla’s most hyped up electric vehicle to date. Not only does the truck show off a cutting edge futuristic design, but it’s also setting a new standard for electric pickup trucks. The vehicle, which has yet to reach the public market, receives an honorary placement in history today. The Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, California plans to display the Tesla Cybertruck for its grand reopening following coronavirus shutdowns.
Spectrum News 1 covered the news stating, “The Petersen has been closed since LA Mayor Eric Garcetti issued a citywide stay-at-home order on March 19.” Reopening with a Tesla vehicle on full display makes sense given the museum’s history with Tesla’s electric vehicles. “Already, the museum is showcasing two Tesla vehicles — the prototypes for its first car, the limited-production Roadster, and its followup, the Model S full-size sedan.”
Placement of the vehicle in the Petersen’s collection only serves to increase the public anticipation of the vehicle. Press for the Cybertruck started off with a bang at its first press conference, where a plethora of memes emerged. Since then, Tesla CEO Elon Musk hasn’t been shy about touting the vehicle’s features. A recent collaboration with Jay Leno’s Garage even shows the television host driving the vehicle around California.
