Tulsa Makes More Efforts to Entice a Tesla Factory

Tulsa and Tesla continue their odd relationship this week as the Oklahoma city stays steadfast in their efforts to bring a Tesla factory to Tulsa. The Tulsa campaign began earlier in the year when the city used a series of memes to attract Tesla’s attention. Though the focus of the media stunts has always been to attract a Tesla Cybertruck factory into the city, Tulsa has varied its approach. A few weeks ago they painted their famous statue in the likeness of Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Now, this week the city made t-shirts, held a rally, and asked qualified engineers to relocate to the city.
According to the Tulsa for Tesla website, “It’s TULSA VS. AUSTIN for the Tesla Cybertruck factory.” The site continues with a call to qualified engineers stating, “ELON AND HIS TEAM HAVE ONE LAST REQUEST FOR US BEFORE THEY DECIDE: Prove incredible engineers from all over would move to Tulsa to work at Tesla.”
There’s no denying the fact that Tulsa has been tenacious with its efforts to attract the electric vehicle maker. Another recent news update from sources at Tulsa World covers a rally the city held as the date of Tesla’s decision closes in. They passed out custom ‘Tulsa for Tesla’ t-shirts and shot video near the repainted statue. “Tulsa is known for its pioneers,” said U.S. Rep. Kevin Hern. For Tesla and its pioneering spirit in the automotive industry, he said, “there’s no better place in America.”
