Tesla Model Y Wheel Wells Get Closer Look in New Video

New owners of the Tesla Model Y carry on with their explorations of the electric vehicle. We’ve seen everything from demonstrations of the vehicle’s off road potential, to walk throughs of the vehicle’s aeroshields. In a new video from i1Tesla, viewers get a closer look at the Model Y wheel wells.

With the wheels and coverings removed, it’s much easier to see the vehicle’s suspension. An inspection of the rear wheel well shows off a new cast piece that reportedly assisted Tesla’s speed in manufacturing. Glued to the side, the cast allows for much quicker mounting of the suspension and other parts. As noted in the video, the design is not too dissimilar to that of the Model 3.

On the front side of the vehicle, viewers can see into the front trunk. The removal of some key pieces makes for some weight savings on the Model Y as compared to the Model 3. The front side dissection also shows that the new electric vehicle actually has two different horns.

A closer look at the front trunk (or frunk) shows clear through to the wheel wells. Wiring trends toward the passenger side on Tesla’s newest electric vehicle. With so many minor changes being uncovered, Tesla enthusiasts are pleased with initial impressions of the Model Y.
