How to Adjust the Seats in the Tesla Model Y
Once again, it’s time to delve into a quick tutorial on the new Tesla Model Y. In this week’s walkthrough, we’ll cover everything you need to know about adjusting the seats in the Model Y. As always, feel free to follow along in the Tesla Model Y Owner’s Manual.
First of all, let’s take a look at adjusting the front seats. Starting on page 28, begin with the correct driving position. As the manual states, there are four main components to the driver’s seat. “The seat, head support, seat belt and airbags work together to maximize your safety.”
To reach the correct driving position begin by sitting in such a way that you can wear the seat belt while also being as far away from the airbag as possible. Next, adjust the seat using the three controls on the side of the seat. One control changes height, tilt, and location. The others adjust the backrest and lumbar support.
To adjust second-row seats, use adjustment handles located on the upper corners of the seats. You can also fold the seats down to maximize storage space. If you want to fold the seats, simply pull and hold the handle, then push the corresponding seat back fully forward. As the manual states, “You can also fold the second row seat backs fully forward by pressing the corresponding switch located on the left side of the rear trunk area. Pressing the switch causes the seat back to swing forward. You can then push it downward so it lays fully flat.”
