A new Tesla Supercharger station has just gone live in Kitchener, Ontario. This is big news both for the electric vehicle manufacturer and for Canada. Of course, Tesla’s expansion of its Supercharger stations represents a larger demand for electric vehicles in North America and elsewhere. Furthermore, with this Supercharger, Canada marks its 100th station.

According to a recent tweet from Red Bartesla the new Supercharger station went live as of yesterday March 31st, 2020. As the tweet states, “Speed isn’t the highest but I also am not low on mileage.” As the claim of low speed is purely anecdotal, there is no evidence to suggest this station operates any differently from the rest of the country’s Superchargers.

The new Supercharger marks another milestone for Tesla in North America. Earlier the electric vehicle company discussed plans to place two new Superchargers in Jasper, Alberta as well. Usage of the Supercharger stations suggest an increased interest in electric vehicles.

With the recent release of the Model Y it’s reasonable to expect that even more regions will request Supercharger stations. After all, the call for two stations in Jasper, Alberta followed a wave of hundreds of requests from users. As Tesla continues to ramp up production and deliveries, availability and access to Supercharger stations will become a necessity in a variety of locations.
