Tesla FSD Referral Program Pays Owners a Free Month or $99 Credit

Tesla is paying U.S. owners to spread FSD (Supervised) without selling a car, handing friends a one-month free trial and rewarding the referrer when that friend starts a paid FSD subscription during the trial.
On Thursday evening, Tesla North America posted the offer for the United States, and the company’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) Referral Program support page matches those terms. Vehicle Refer and Earn deals have bundled FSD perks for new-car buyers since 2023; a November 2025 update paid referrers $500 when a Model 3 or Model Y buyer added FSD and $15 for completed FSD demo drives. What is new is a software-only loop with no vehicle order required.
Owners who already subscribe to FSD (Supervised), or who bought it outright, can share a referral link from the Tesla app. Eligible friends, like anyone who signs up through Tesla North’s referral link, get one free month of FSD (Supervised). If that friend starts a paid subscription during the trial, the referrer earns one free month of FSD when they subscribe themselves, or a $99 Tesla credit when they already own FSD outright.
Drivers qualify for the free FSD trial when they have not subscribed to FSD in the past 12 months, and the program is U.S.-only for now. Referrer rewards are capped at 12 per calendar year on Tesla’s FSD referral support page, so a heavy referrer could stack up to a year of free FSD time, or $1,188 in credits if they paid for the software up front.
That setup sits beside, rather than replaces, the older car-order referral track that still steers buyers toward months of free FSD with a new Model 3 or Model Y. The subscription path is aimed at owners who already drive a Tesla and have stayed on the fence about paying the $99 monthly FSD fee.

Would a free month from a friend be enough to decide whether $99 a month is worth it on your commute?
