Tesla has added three new lifestyle items to its online shop: the Tesla Essential Backpack for US$120, a smaller Tesla Mini Essential Backpack for US$80 and the Tesla Performance Umbrella for US$95. In Canada, the Tesla Shop lists them at CA$165, CA$110 and CA$130.

The full-size Essential Backpack holds 12 liters and has a velvet fleece-lined sleeve for laptops up to 16 inches. Tesla says the front panel unzips flat to open the main compartment, and there’s a hidden top pocket, mesh organizers inside and a side pocket sized for its On the Road drinkware. The bag measures 29 x 9 x 47 cm, slides over most luggage handles and is made with water- and abrasion-resistant materials.

Kids get their own version, though Tesla says the Mini is “tailored for kids or adults.” It holds 9.5 liters, fits a laptop up to 13 inches and adds a fleece-lined tablet pocket, while keeping the same flat-opening front panel and hidden top pocket.

The umbrella is the more unusual of the three. It has a 48-inch black canopy with a Tesla wordmark on the outside and a gradient interior that Tesla says is “inspired by our Model 3 Performance badge.” The handle and shaft are carbon fiber, and it folds into a matching storage sleeve that Tesla says fits in your vehicle’s trunk.

When we checked, all three product pages in the US and Canada showed the items as out of stock, with an option to get an email when they’re restocked.

Bags have been part of the Tesla Shop lineup for years. Back in 2022, the company launched its vegan leather Mega [back] Pack and Mega [mini] Pack, and this year it has kept adding gift-style items, from a Cybertruck-inspired glass and chilling stone set to a US$225 kids balance bike that sold out right away.

A US$95 price is steep for an umbrella, though this one does use a carbon fiber shaft. Would you pick up either of these new backpacks or the Performance Umbrella?
