Grok Bot expanded its software-building capabilities on September 30, adding Cursor handoffs, pull request management through GitHub and Origin plugins, and video demos of completed projects as it pushes Bots further into software development workflows.

“Grok Bot is now more powerful for building software. Bots can hand off coding tasks to Cursor, manage your PRs with GitHub and Origin plugins, and share video demos of what they build,” Grok Bot said.

The update extends Grok Bot’s existing ability to create Bots with new tools aimed specifically at software development. Coding tasks can now be handed off to Cursor, while the GitHub and Origin plugins let Bots manage pull requests and share video demos of what they build. The coding focus follows SpaceXAI’s release of Grok 4.7, described as its smartest AI yet for writing code.

Alongside the new development features, Grok Bot is making templates from its own engineering team available for users to install. A Grok Bot Marketplace card accompanying the announcement was labeled “x.ai Engineering.”

“We’re also sharing our engineering team’s Bots as templates you can install. Each one comes with skills, routines, and connectors to get you started,” Grok Bot said in a follow-up.

Those templates give users a starting point based on Bots used by the engineering team, including their associated skills, routines and connectors. Combined with Cursor handoffs, pull request management and video demos, the changes broaden how much of a software-building workflow can be coordinated through Bots. The templates build on SpaceXAI’s Team Bots for shared workplace AI, while Grok Bot continues to resolve support tickets for as little as $0.20.

Grok Bot published the announcement at 12:06 PM on September 30, 2026, signaling a broader move toward development-focused automation and reusable engineering workflows.
