Tesla’s Texas Robotaxi roster added nine more purpose-built Cybercabs on September 18, lifting the Cybercab count in state automated-vehicle records to 58, according to the latest Texas Department of Motor Vehicles sync mirrored on the public FSD Database tracker.

The nine newest VINs all carry September 18 registration stamps under Tesla Robotaxi, LLC. That is a clean step up from the 49 Cybercabs logged earlier this month, and it keeps the purpose-built two-seaters climbing after Austin’s public Cybercab rides opened.

  • Cybercabs on the Texas roster: 58
  • New Cybercab VINs dated September 18: 9
  • Model Y robotaxis on the same Tesla Robotaxi authorization: 390
  • Combined Tesla Robotaxi vehicles in Texas: 448

Registration is not the same as active paid rides at any given hour. The TxDMV automated motor vehicle list shows which cars Tesla has authorized for commercial automated operation in Texas. It does not say how many of those Cybercabs are currently circulating in Austin’s geofence or sitting in a yard.

Even so, the September 18 batch is the clearest public signal since the mid-forties that Tesla is still feeding production Cybercabs into the Robotaxi pipeline rather than freezing the dedicated fleet at the launch figure. The broader Tesla Robotaxi authorization now sits at 448 vehicles when Model Y units are included.

Texas remains the only U.S. state posting this kind of operator-level robotaxi VIN roster in near real time, which is why the Cybercab count keeps showing up as a hard fleet metric between earnings calls.
