SpaceX Slips Starship Flight 14 to September 28

SpaceX on Thursday, September 17, 2026, said it is now targeting Starship Flight 14 as early as Monday, September 28, pending regulatory approval, moving the attempt off the earlier NET Tuesday, September 22 window from Starbase.

In an official post on X, the company wrote that it is now targeting to launch Starship Flight 14 as early as Monday, September 28, pending regulatory approval, quoting its own earlier note that still listed the September 22 target.

That is roughly a six-day slip from the public NET date SpaceX and the FAA had been tracking. SpaceX did not spell out why the date moved in Thursday’s update.

Flight 14 is framed as Starship’s first planned orbital mission after prior tests stayed on intentionally suborbital trajectories. The company’s mission page write-up had described a Starbase liftoff with a roughly 75-minute window opening at 7:15 a.m. Central Time, Ship flying near 275 km for about six orbits, a Pacific splashdown west of Chile, deployment of 26 Starlink V3 satellites, and a Super Heavy offshore landing in the Gulf.

The FAA’s recent airspace advisory had listed September 22 as the primary window and September 23 as backup for the Starbase flight. Those notices plan national airspace around a possible attempt; they are not a locked countdown clock, and Thursday’s SpaceX note still gates the new Monday target on regulatory approval.

SpaceX has not published a revised mission clock or a new FAA window alongside the Monday target, so the earlier profile details remain the last full public package until those update.

Monday, September 28 is now the earliest public date SpaceX is willing to put on Flight 14, still subject to license clearance, stack readiness, weather, and range.
