Tesla FSD Will Soon Let Drivers Use Voice Commands to Pick Driveways

Tesla is developing a new feature that will let drivers use natural language voice commands to control Full Self-Driving software. The upcoming update promises to make navigating complex residential areas and arriving at specific destinations much smoother. We tracked down the recent developer interactions to see how this update will change the daily commute for electric vehicle owners.

The feature was confirmed by Tesla Vice-President of AI Ashok Elluswamy on X. Responding to a user suggestion about talking to the car to give precise driveway directions, Elluswamy replied, “Working on it.”

Currently, navigating tight residential neighbourhoods can be tricky for autonomous systems due to imprecise map pins. The addition of spoken instructions means drivers could eventually tell the vehicle exactly where to stop, such as asking it to pull into a specific driveway or park near a certain house colour. This capability builds directly on top of the recent FSD Supervised v14 updates, which introduced improved routing, customizable arrival choices, and smoother driving behaviours.
