European ultra-low-cost carrier Wizz Air has announced a new partnership with SpaceX to bring Starlink satellite internet to its entire aircraft fleet.

The budget airline plans to begin installing the high-speed, low-latency connectivity hardware in 2027. Wizz Air will become the first ultra-low-cost airline in Europe to offer the space-based internet service, which aims to provide passengers with reliable connection speeds at 30,000 feet. Every new generation aircraft in the fleet is expected to receive the upgrade.

“Ultra-low-cost travel has always been about making opportunities accessible to more people,” said Ian Malin, Chief Commercial Officer of Wizz Air. “In 2027, we’re taking that philosophy into the space era. Our customers shouldn’t have to choose between affordable fares and reliable internet onboard to stay connected to the people, work, and moments that matter most. We’re proud to lead that change by collaborating with Starlink to bring maximum benefit to Wizz Air! Let’s WIZZ!”

SpaceX Vice President of Starlink Enterprise Sales Jason Fritch stated that the technology is built to keep passengers and crew seamlessly connected from departure to arrival. While onboard internet has traditionally been a luxury feature reserved for premium airlines, this rollout signals a shift toward making inflight Wi-Fi a standard expectation for budget travel.

“We’re thrilled to bring Starlink onboard Wizz Air and transform the travel experience for millions of its customers. Keeping passengers and crew seamlessly connected at 30,000 feet is exactly what this technology was built to do. We look forward to delivering reliable, high-speed internet from departure to arrival.” said Jason Fritch, Vice President of Starlink Enterprise Sales at SpaceX.
