Starlink Is Raising Its Prices — Here’s How Much More You’ll Pay
SpaceX is implementing a wave of price hikes across its Starlink satellite internet plans in the United States, citing rising operational costs and heavy demand for the service.
The adjustments impact several tiers of service, including standard household plans, mobile packages, and the low-bandwidth standby option.
Higher Monthly Costs for Home and Mobile Internet
Residential customers will see monthly increases ranging from $5 to $10 dollars depending on their speed tier. The entry-level 100 Mbps plan is moving to $55 per month, while the 200 Mbps tier will now cost $85 per month. Users on the high-end tier delivering speeds of 400 Mbps or more will see their monthly bill increase to $130.
Mobile users are facing similar updates. The Starlink Roam package with a 100 GB data cap is rising to $55 per month, and the Unlimited Roam tier is increasing by ten dollars to reach $175 per month.
Standby Mode Fee Doubles
The price hikes also target customers who use Starlink intermittently. The platform’s Standby Mode, which lets users temporarily pause their active service while keeping a minimal 500 Kbps connection active for basic background tasks, is doubling in cost from $5 to $10 per month.
“Starlink is rapidly increasing network capacity, expanding coverage, and improving reliability to deliver faster, more consistent connectivity,” reads the email from Starlink to customers.
“Strong demand for Starlink reflects the value customers continue to see in the service. This adjustment supports ongoing improvements and investment in affordable, high-performance products and services as global operating costs continue to rise,” said the company.
“Beginning with your next billing cycle on or after June 18, the monthly price when pausing with Standby Mode will increase to $10/month. You will continue to enjoy unlimited low-speed data for emergency messaging and easy reactivation it dead zones,” explained Starlink.
