Tesla Owners in Canada Can Now Earn Rewards for Home Charging
Tesla owners in Canada have a new way to earn rewards through a program launched by WattsApp, a Toronto-based charging network operator. The initiative allows drivers to benefit from federal clean energy incentives simply by charging their vehicles at home.
The program works by connecting a Tesla account to the WattsApp platform using Tesla’s official APIs. Once linked, the system automatically tracks charging sessions from Gen 3 Wall Connectors or Universal Wall Connectors. Users earn 3points for every kilowatt-hour (kWh) added to their vehicle. For a typical session of 50 kWh, an owner would earn 150 points.
Rewards and Redemption
Points earned through the platform can be redeemed for various rewards once specific milestones are reached:
- 25,000 points: $250 in gift cards.
- 50,000 points: $500 cash via e-transfer.
- 70,000 points: A new Tesla Wall Connector.
The program leverages Canada’s Clean Fuel Regulations, which encourage the use of clean electricity over fossil fuels. WattsApp acts as the intermediary, handling the regulatory requirements and converting those carbon credits into tangible rewards for everyday drivers.
The platform is currently in a beta phase, which is scheduled to end on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Tesla owners who join before the deadline will retain all points earned during the testing period, according to what the WattsApp founders have shared.
