Starlink’s Secret $50 Credit Effectively Offers a Free Month

SpaceX is quietly rolling out a new promotion for Starlink — and if you were already considering signing up, this one might be worth a look.
The company has begun mailing promotional postcards to prospective customers offering a $50 service credit for new Residential subscribers. Several users on X have confirmed receiving the mailer, which reads: “Receive a $50 service credit when you sign up for Starlink.”
The postcard directs customers to visit starlink.com/50-credit or call 1-888-652-8188 to claim the offer. Fine print on the card notes the credit applies upon purchasing a Starlink Kit and signing up for the Residential service plan. The offer can’t be combined with other promotions and expires March 31, 2026.
While $50 might not sound groundbreaking, it’s effectively a free month if you opt for Starlink’s Residential 100 Mbps plan, which now starts at $50 per month following last month’s Residential plan shakeup in the U.S. That entry-tier plan offers unlimited data with download speeds capped at 100 Mbps.
Alternatively, the $50 credit can be applied toward the $80 Residential 200 Mbps plan or the $120 Residential Max plan, which delivers speeds up to 400 Mbps (or even higher in select areas), plus perks like a complimentary Router Mini for mesh Wi-Fi, a Starlink Mini dish available as a free rental for travel, and a 50% discount on Roam subscriptions.
To be clear, this isn’t the most aggressive deal Starlink has offered. In the past, the company has slashed monthly fees by as much as $252 over the first year and offered steep hardware discounts. That said, $50 is still $50 — and Starlink is currently offering free Standard dishes (and even free installation in some regions), making the overall value proposition stronger.
The push comes as Starlink continues its rapid growth trajectory. The service doubled its user base to 9.2 million subscribers in 2025 alone and now accounts for roughly 97% of global satellite internet traffic.
If you were already on the fence, this postcard promo might be the nudge you needed.
