Tesla Model Y Gets New ‘Marine Blue’ Paint Option in Europe

Tesla has launched an all-new Marine Blue paint option for the Model Y in select European markets, marking the latest color to come out of the automaker’s advanced paint facility at Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg. The new shade is priced at €1,300 (around $1,500 USD) in most countries, putting it on par with Diamond Black and Stealth Grey, and half the cost of Tesla’s premium Quicksilver and Ultra Red finishes.

The Marine Blue color is available on both the Model Y Premium (previously known as the Long Range trim) and the Model Y Performance. It’s not offered on the new entry-level Model Y Standard RWD, which Tesla launched across Europe earlier this week with deliveries slated to begin in November.

As with Quicksilver and Ultra Red, Marine Blue was developed at Giga Berlin — Tesla’s European manufacturing hub and home to its most advanced paint shop, capable of producing multi-layered finishes that change depth and tone depending on lighting conditions. The new hue joins a growing palette of region-exclusive colors from Berlin that aren’t currently available on vehicles built in Fremont, Austin, or Shanghai.

The arrival of Marine Blue comes just over a month after Tesla refreshed the Model Y Performance in Europe, adding updated hardware and new design details. It also follows a strong quarter for the automaker across the continent, where the Model Y continued to lead EV sales in key markets such as Norway, France, and Denmark.

With its dynamic finish and availability on Tesla’s most popular model, Marine Blue adds a bit more personality to the Model Y lineup while further showcasing Giga Berlin’s advanced paint capabilities.
