Tesla has quietly launched turn signal stalk retrofits for the Model 3 in the U.S. The retrofit kit is now available for purchase online through the Tesla Shop for $595 USD, with shipping to a local Tesla Service Center and installation included in the price.
According to Tesla’s official product listing, the package includes a traditional turn signal stalk, steering wheel, and steering column control module, and is compatible with Model 3 vehicles produced in 2024 and 2025 that shipped without a physical stalk.
The move follows Tesla’s recent decision to bring back turn signal stalks on all new Model 3 orders in the U.S., including the newly unveiled entry-level Model 3 Standard trim. Earlier this week, visual updates to Tesla’s U.S. online configurator confirmed that all Model 3 variants would once again feature a traditional indicator stalk instead of capacitive steering wheel buttons.

Tesla began reintroducing the turn signal stalk in other markets earlier this year, first restoring it on Model 3 vehicles in China in August — complete with retrofits for existing owners — and more recently launching a €660 retrofit kit in Europe. The automaker has also brought back the stalk on the new Model 3 Long Range RWD variant that debuted in Australia and New Zealand last week.
Indicator stalks are making a comeback nearly two years after Tesla controversially removed them from the Model 3 with its September 2023 “Highland” refresh, which required drivers to use steering wheel buttons to signal turns and a touchscreen swipe for gear selection.
It remains to be seen whether Tesla will extend the same treatment to the gear selector stalk, another control element the company eliminated with the Highland update. For now, at least, Model 3 owners who prefer a more traditional setup can finally restore one of the car’s most missed features.
