Tesla has begun offering a turn signal stalk retrofit for Model 3 owners in several European markets, including Germany, priced at €660 on the Tesla Shop. The retrofit includes both the installation of the traditional indicator stalk and the necessary steering wheel modifications, with the process handled by a Tesla Service Center.
According to the product listing, the package is compatible with Model 3 vehicles produced in 2023, 2024, and 2025 that shipped without a turn signal stalk. The €660 price includes installation and shipping to a Tesla Service Center near you.
This marks the latest region to receive the highly requested retrofit, following Tesla’s reintroduction of indicator stalks in China earlier this year, where the company also began offering retrofits for existing Model 3 owners. Just last week, Tesla launched the new Model 3 Long Range RWD in Australia and New Zealand with turn signal stalks and a WLTP-rated range of 750 km, further signaling that stalks are making a global comeback.
The return of indicator stalks comes nearly two years after Tesla’s controversial decision to remove them entirely with the September 2023 “Highland” refresh of the Model 3. That facelift replaced physical stalks with haptic buttons on the steering wheel for signaling and a swipe-based gear selector on the center touchscreen. Many owners found the control changes unintuitive — especially in dynamic driving conditions.
With stalk retrofits now expanding to Europe, owners across additional markets, including the U.S., are hoping Tesla will soon offer the same upgrade in their region. Users on Reddit discussing the new retrofit were quick to ask when the company might also make a front bumper camera retrofit available for the Model 3, though Tesla hasn’t made any announcements on that front yet.
It remains unclear whether Tesla will eventually also reintroduce a gear selector stalk, but for now, the indicator stalk retrofit offers drivers a familiar and practical control option once again.
