Starlink Introduces Bank Account Billing for U.S. Customers

SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet service has just added a new and more convenient way to pay: ACH Direct Debit. The new payment method allows U.S. customers to link their bank accounts directly to their Starlink account, enabling automatic monthly payments with no added fees.
The news comes from a recent email sent to Starlink users, first shared by Reddit user BigSandwich6. According to the email, ACH Direct Debit is now available as a payment method on Starlink accounts.
“Starlink payments can now come straight from your bank account, without worrying about expired cards or billing interruptions,” SpaceX told customers in the email. Once set up, payments are processed automatically each month, eliminating the hassle of expired credit cards or missed payments.
ACH (Automated Clearing House) Direct Debit is a widely used electronic payment system in the U.S. that facilitates secure, bank-to-bank transfers. It’s often the go-to for recurring expenses like utilities and subscription services—and now, it’s an option for your Starlink internet too.
Here’s how to switch to Direct Debit for Starlink billing:
- Navigate to your Starlink account home page.
- Select Billing from the tab on the far left.
- Click on Edit under Payment Method on the far right of the screen.
- Select Direct Debit and input your bank account details or link your bank account directly.
This addition further streamlines the Starlink customer experience, especially for users in rural and remote areas who rely on the service as their primary internet connection. ACH Direct Debit appears to only be available to U.S. customers at this time, and there’s no confirmation yet on when (or if) a similar option will be rolled out to other countries.
Starlink has over 2 million active subscribers in the U.S. alone, and more than double that globally, making billing reliability increasingly important. The new feature comes just a week after the service experienced its longest-ever global outage, which SpaceX attributed to a network upgrade.
