
Tesla is adding Jack Hartung, a longtime Chipotle executive, to its Board of Directors starting June 1, 2025. The company disclosed the appointment in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Hartung joined Chipotle in 2002 and played a major role in the company’s expansion over the past two decades. He most recently served as President and Chief Strategy Officer, and previously held the position of Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, where he oversaw finance, accounting, supply chain, and safety operations.
Under his financial leadership, Chipotle grew to more than 3,700 restaurants across the U.S., Canada, and other international markets. He has received recognition including CFO of the Year by the Orange County Business Journal and Best CFO in the restaurant category by Institutional Investor.
Hartung is set to retire from his executive role at Chipotle on the same day he joins Tesla, and will move into a senior advisor role at the restaurant chain. He currently also sits on the boards of Portillo’s, The Honest Company, and ZocDoc.
Shares of Tesla are up 1.47% today, trading at $347.84 per share.
