Tesla 2025 Spring Software Update is Here: What’s New
Tesla is rolling out its 2025 Spring software update, bringing a mix of safety upgrades, convenience features, and entertainment tweaks to its lineup. The update will be available soon for eligible vehicles across Canada and the U.S.
Here’s a breakdown of what’s new:
Driver Safety and Visibility
-
Adaptive Headlights (US & Canada)
Headlights now adapt to oncoming traffic and cyclists by dimming only specific sections, letting you keep your high beams on more often.
Where to find it: Controls > Lights > Adaptive Headlights -
Blind Spot Camera on Driver Screen (New Model S/X)
Camera feed now appears directly on the instrument panel.
Where to find it: Controls > Display > Automatic Blind Spot Camera -
Dashcam Update + Side Camera Recording (Newer SX3Y)
Tesla now records side views (B-pillar cameras), increasing total dashcam angles from 4 to 6. A redesigned viewer makes browsing clips easier. It seem like the Model Y with HW3 might not get this as it’s not considered “newer”. -
Lane Departure Avoidance (Cybertruck)
The Cybertruck will now show a blue line on-screen when drifting toward lane lines and can actively assist if enabled.
Navigation and Trip Planning
-
Alternative Trip Plans
Choose from:-
Fastest (least travel time)
-
Best Amenities (stops near top-rated spots)
-
Fewer Stops (minimal charging)
Nearby cafes and shops are now shown on charger location pages.
-
-
Avoid Highways Option
Prefer slower, scenic routes? Now you can toggle highway avoidance in your navigation settings.
Autopilot and Driving Comfort
-
Comfort Drive Mode (Cybertruck)
Cybertruck will now auto-switch to Comfort Mode when Autopilot is on.
Trunk and Frunk Customization
-
Save Trunk Height by Location
Model 3, Y, new Model S/X, and new Model 3 drivers can set a custom trunk height for places like home garages. -
Save Frunk Height (Cybertruck)
Same idea, but for the front trunk on Cybertruck. Adjust it once and it remembers.
Touchscreen and Media Improvements
-
Keyboard Language Switching
Change input languages on the touchscreen keyboard. -
Keep Accessory Power On
Power USB ports, wireless chargers, and outlets after leaving the vehicle, as long as battery is above 20%. This was taken away and finally it is back, as previously reported. -
Media Player Tweaks
-
Filter search results by source
-
Shuffle Apple Music playlists with 100+ songs
-
Scroll SiriusXM favorites using steering wheel buttons
