Unsupervised Tesla FSD Coming to More Cities by End of 2025: Musk
Tesla CEO Elon Musk says unsupervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) will roll out in Austin, Texas, this June, with expansion to more U.S. cities by the end of the year.
“As I’ve said previously, unsupervised full self-driving Teslas will be carrying passengers in Austin in June and many cities in America by end of year,” Musk wrote on X. “This will enable passenger cars to increase in utility by roughly half an order of magnitude overnight with a software update.”
The update would allow Tesla vehicles to operate without human oversight—something the company has been aiming for over several years through its FSD beta program, which currently requires the driver to be attentive.
Musk’s comment was shared in response to a post from Tesla investor Sawyer Merritt, who had quoted David Faber speaking about his FSD experience on CNBC, speaking to Jim Cramer (who of course mentioned Waymo).
“I had the opportunity to ride in a @Tesla this weekend Full Self-Driving. It’s worth doing. The steering wheel was not touched—throughout. The technology is real. People are driving 100 miles out of New York City or whereever you want to go, and not touching the steering wheel once.”

We’ve seen how the latest versions of FSD 13.2.8 have been super impressive. Kyle Paul shared more tests, putting a Model Y with HW4 and FSD to the test, again not hitting the fake wall (unlike Mark Rober’s flawed Autopilot test).
