Tesla Dealership in Canada Hit by Vandals—80 Cars Damaged

Hamilton Police are investigating a large-scale case of vandalism at a Tesla dealership on the Hamilton Mountain in Ontario. Officers were called to the Tesla location at 999 Upper Wentworth Street on March 19, 2025, after reports of damage to several vehicles.

Upon arrival, police discovered that up to 80 Tesla vehicles parked outside had been vandalized. The damage includes deep scratches and punctured tires, with investigators now reviewing security footage to identify those responsible.

This 60,000-square-foot Tesla facility, which opened in late 2024, serves as both a showroom and a full-scale service centre—Canada’s largest for Tesla. The showroom entrance is inside the mall, while the service centre has an external entrance for vehicle drop-offs, making it easily accessible near the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway and Highway 403.

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in solving the case. Anyone with information is urged to contact the on-duty Division 3 Staff Sergeant at 905-546-3886. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.

“Everybody understands the climate in the world right now, but there’s nothing to suggest that [this incident] is motivated by that at this time,” Hamilton police Const. Trevor McKenna told CTV. “It’s still under investigation.”

Canadians are vandalizing Tesla cars and dealerships as a furious reaction to Elon Musk’s alliance with U.S. President Donald Trump and his role in the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which pushes for deep U.S. spending cuts, alongside his provocative X posts—like mocking Canada’s legitimacy—amid a heated Canada-U.S. trade war sparked by Trump’s tariffs on Canadian steel and Canada’s $20.5 billion counter-levies as of March 20, 2025.

At the end of the day, vandalism is a crime. These cars look to be customer vehicles and now these people are seeing their cars caught in the crossfire.
