Tesla Showcases Massive Solar and Battery Project Powering Los Angeles

Tesla has released a new YouTube video highlighting the Eland Solar-plus-Storage Project in Kern County, California.
The site, owned by Arevon, features 758 MW of solar power backed by 1.2 GWh of Tesla Megapack battery storage , helping stabilize the grid and support Los Angeles’ goal of 100% climate-friendly electricity by 2035.
The 1.36 million solar panels at Eland work alongside 172 Megapacks, ensuring clean energy is available during peak demand. Tesla’s advanced site-level controls regulate power output, preventing waste and improving efficiency. The project is especially crucial during extreme heat, providing reliable power when the grid needs it most.
Tesla’s video highlights how large-scale solar and battery storage can help transition major cities to sustainable energy while reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
