Tesla is raising prices across its lineup in Canada starting February 1, affecting the Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X. The increase appears to be linked to the falling Canadian dollar, which has driven up costs relative to U.S. pricing.
Here’s a breakdown of the upcoming price hikes. Notice the Model 3 has varying price increases, while the other increases are across the board:
- Model 3 RWD: +$4,000 (from $55,990 to $59,990 CAD)
- Model 3 Long Range RWD: +$4,000
- Model 3 Long Range AWD: +$8,000
- Model 3 Performance: +$9,000
- Model Y: +$4,000
- Model S: +$4,000
- Model X: +$4,000
For reference, the U.S. price of the Model 3 RWD, converted to CAD, is approximately $64,600 based on current exchange rates, closely aligning with the adjusted Canadian pricing. The Canadian economy is not doing well and the dollar is tanking. Everything is going up in price.
With the $5,000 federal iZEV rebate also ending, it’s now going to be much more expensive to buy a Tesla in Canada. Tesla also recently increased prices on top of the rebate ending too.
