Mercedes-Benz EVs to Access Tesla Superchargers in February
Mercedes-Benz has announced its electric vehicles (EVs) in the United States will gain access to Tesla’s Supercharger network in February, which includes over 20,000 charging stations. Canadian Mercedes-Benz drivers will be able to use Tesla Superchargers later in 2025.
The Germany automaker announced last July it would be adopting Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS), but now we have an access date.
This integration will allow Mercedes-Benz EVs to use Tesla Superchargers through the Mercedes me Charge service, enabling “Plug & Charge,” where the car automatically starts charging and processes payments upon connection.
For current Mercedes-Benz EVs that use the CCS1 charging standard, an adapter will be available at dealerships in early 2025. This adapter, priced at $185 in the U.S., will let these vehicles connect to Tesla Superchargers. Canadian pricing and availability will be announced closer to launch.
Starting in 2025, new Mercedes-Benz EVs in North America will come equipped with the Tesla-designed NACS port, eliminating the need for an adapter.
By integrating Tesla Superchargers, Mercedes-Benz adds to its already extensive charging network, which includes partnerships with Electrify America, ChargePoint, and others. This move increases the total number of charging points available to Mercedes-Benz drivers in North America to over 110,000.
