The voice commands in Tesla vehicles are okay, but not great. Sometimes the voice commands don’t understand what you’re saying. A major upgrade is needed and now Tesla CEO says xAI’s Grok is coming to the company’s cars, “soon”.

Musk made the comment today when he was testing live-streaming today on X by gaming. “Grok in Teslas is coming soon. So you will just be able to talk to your Tesla and ask for anything,” said Musk.

With xAI having the world’s largest training cluster Colossus for AI, having its AI chatbot enter Tesla vehicles would be amazing, as it will change how we interact with our cars.

Colossus was initially equipped with 100,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs, but is set to double its capacity to 200,000 GPUs with the addition of Nvidia’s H200 units. Constructed in just 122 days in Memphis, Tennessee, the system uses Nvidia’s Spectrum-X Ethernet networking to optimize performance for training advanced AI models, such as Grok.

Now, we know that “Elon time” is a real thing, but it only makes sense for Grok to come to Tesla vehicles.

A replay of Musk streaming on X is here (it’s 1 hour and 37 minutes long).
