Tesla Model S Gets Free Supercharging—And Price Increase
Tesla has reintroduced free lifetime Supercharging for new Model S buyers or leasers in the U.S., effective for orders placed on or after December 13, 2024.
This means that owners can charge their cars at Tesla Superchargers for free during the entire time they own the vehicle. However, this offer comes with conditions.

The free Supercharging is tied to the Tesla account of the original buyer or lessee and cannot be transferred to another person, vehicle, or order, even if the car is sold.
Vehicles bought for business or commercial purposes, like taxis or delivery services, are not eligible for the promotion. Also, owners are still responsible for fees like idle and congestion charges if they leave their car plugged in too long after charging is complete.
Tesla also increased the price of the Model S by $5,000, with the all-wheel-drive (AWD) version now starting at $79,990 and the high-performance Plaid version at $94,990.
The free Supercharging can be combined with other Tesla promotions, but the company reserves the right to revoke the benefit if it detects misuse, such as excessive charging or unpaid fees. The offer is subject to change or cancellation at Tesla’s discretion.
While you get free Supercharging, you also have to pay a price increase of $5,000. But if you do a lot of road trips and driving and are expected to spend more than the price hike in Supercharging expenses, this might be worth it for you. This looks like another move to boost sales just before the end of the year for Tesla.
