Tesla Cloud Profiles Update: Custom Settings Now Model-Specific
Tesla has updated its Cloud Profiles feature, making it easier for drivers to personalize settings based on their specific vehicle model.
Tesla owner Dan Burkland shared his experience with the new update, noting that previously, the Cloud Profiles would sync settings across all Tesla vehicles a user owned, regardless of each model’s unique features.
For instance, while Burkland owns both a 2022 Model Y and a 2024 Model S, certain model-specific options—like air suspension—weren’t differentiated in the Cloud Profiles.
Recently, however, Burkland noticed that his settings are now saved on a per-model basis. In his Model S, he has the “Raise Suspension” function bound to the left scroll wheel, whereas in the Model Y, the same action brings up the Camera app. This adjustment allows drivers to enjoy a more seamless experience across different Tesla models while maintaining specific settings for each vehicle.
“I’m not sure when this started, but recently I’ve noticed that the “Scroll Wheel Function” setting is now synced on a per-vehicle model basis. This allows me to have the “Raise Suspension” function bound to the left scroll wheel on my Model S, while on my Model Y it brings up the Camera app (all with the very same Cloud Profile),” said Burkland.
Burkland believes Tesla is likely preparing for future advancements, such as its anticipated Robotaxi service, where model-specific customization could enhance user experience. He hopes Tesla will continue to refine these options, potentially expanding the customization to settings like EQ adjustments.
