2024.33.5 Release Notes: FSD 12.5.4.2 for HW3, Much ‘Smoother’
Tesla recently started rolling out its 2024.33.5 software update, which includes Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised 12.5.4.2, for Hardware 3 (HW3/AI3) vehicles.
This update brings some improvements to Actually Smart Summon, while the end-to-end highway stack for FSD is set to be coming soon.
Some initial experiences with FSD 12.5.4.2 on HW3 cars, such as on Zack’s (@BLKMDL3) Model 3, he noticed that the visualization is “significantly smoother”, seemingly fixing a previous bug that caused a slow frame rate refresh. Compared to his Model Y with Hardware 4/AI4 (AMD Ryzen), he said his older Model 3 with Hardware 3/AI3 (Intel) “is better”, referring to the visualization.
“12.5.4.2 is just smoother overall. Really feels good,” said Zach. “Somehow visualizations are smoother and better than the Ryzen Y,” he added.
It’s only a matter of time before FSD 12.5.4.2 goes to wide release, especially for those on the free extended FSD trial right now.
