Tesla recently rolled out its Actually Smart Summon (A.S.S.) feature, which is part of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) package.
Compared to regular ‘dumn’ Summon, A.S.S. relies fully on Tesla vehicle cameras and leverages FSD to navigate through parking lots to come to your location, or a destination you set on the map.
A new promo video from Tesla demos A.S.S., with Tesla saying it “enables your car to come to you from anywhere in the parking lot or to a location of your choosing. Summoning your Tesla makes loading up easier and keeps you dry in the rain.”
Tesla says the feature is “designed and intended for use only on parking lots and driveways located on private property where the surrounding area is familiar and predictable. Do not use on public roads.”
If you try to use A.S.S. to come to you beyond a parking lot, the Tesla will stop and say it cannot be used on public roads. A.S.S. recently rolled out as part of a new second FSD trial for customers in Canada and the USA.
