Nissan Ariya to Gain Tesla Supercharger Access with NACS Adapter
Nissan is making electric vehicle (EV) ownership easier with the launch of its NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network, a new feature that streamlines charging for drivers of the Nissan Ariya and future EV models.
This network, set to be available in the MyNISSAN app by November 2024, integrates charging station discovery, real-time charger availability, and payment options, all in one platform.
The NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network includes over 90,000 fast chargers in the U.S. through partnerships with Electrify America, Shell Recharge, ChargePoint, and EVgo, with plans to expand further. This network allows drivers to store payment methods in the app and start charging sessions with just a tap, simplifying the overall charging experience.
In addition to this, Nissan will soon provide Ariya drivers with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter, enabling them to access Tesla Supercharger locations by the end of the year. By 2025, all new Nissan EVs in the U.S. and Canada will be equipped with a NACS port, giving drivers even greater access to public charging stations. Nissan was the first Japanese automaker to adopt NACS, back in July 2023.
Nissan says it plans to launch 16 new electrified models globally by the end of fiscal year 2026.
