Today is finally the day, 10/10, Tesla’s Robotaxi event. After a delay from 8/8 (Oct. 8), Tesla will hold its special “We, Robot” event live in Los Angeles, California. The Tesla website has a countdown timer to the start of the event, hyping up expectations even more. Many believe tonight could be equivalent to the “first iPhone” moment for Tesla.

Tesla is expected to unveil its “Cybercab”, an autonomous vehicle powered by its Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology. The company is also expected to allow owners to turn their Teslas into Robotaxis and generate income, something Musk has promised since April 2019.
In September 2024, Tesla rolled out version 12.5.2 of its FSD software, offering approximately three times the improvement in miles between necessary interventions.
This update introduced unified AI models for the AI3 and AI4 computers, enhanced Smart Summon capabilities, and new features like Cybertruck Autopark, eye-tracking with sunglasses, and an end-to-end network for highway driving.
Additionally, Cybertruck owners can now experience FSD, as they were the first to get the end-to-end highway stack.
In October 2024, Tesla will add functionalities such as Unpark, Park, and Reverse modes in FSD. Coming is FSD 13, which boasts a sixfold increase in miles between necessary interventions.
Looking ahead to Q1 2025, Tesla aims to launch FSD in Europe and China, pending regulatory approval.
