Tesla Sets New Q3 Record for Deliveries at Nearly 463,000

Tesla reported its Q3 production and delivery figures today, manufacturing approximately 470,000 vehicles and delivering around 463,000 vehicles in Q3 2024. This marks the highest delivery number in any Q3 by Tesla.

The company also deployed 6.9 GWh of energy storage products during the quarter, which continues to grow at a remarkable pace, up 73% year-over-year.

The majority of production and deliveries came from Tesla’s Model 3/Y lineup, which saw 443,668 vehicles produced and 439,975 delivered. Other models, including the Model S and Model X, accounted for 26,128 units produced and 22,915 delivered.

Tesla will release its full financial results for Q3 2024 on October 23, followed by a live Q&A webcast at 4:30 p.m. Central Time (5:30 p.m. Eastern Time) to discuss the results and future outlook.

Analysts have responded positively to the report. Dan Ives stated that Tesla’s deliveries were in line with expectations, calling it a “mini step in the right direction,” although still slightly below some estimates.

Roland Pircher noted that the 4% quarter-over-quarter and 6% year-over-year growth in deliveries show continued improvement, with the total Tesla fleet now reaching 6.8 million cars globally, but year to date sales are down 2.3%.
