Tesla Launches FSD for Cybertruck, with End-to-End Highway
Tesla has launched Full Self-Driving (FSD) for the Cybertruck, which falls into line with the company’s previous software update timeline that said FSD would arrive on the company’s truck in September.
Tomorrow is the last day of September so time was quite tight but here we are. This is an early access release, so it’s not a wide rollout.
According to @Teslascope, software update 2024.32.20 for the Cybertruck includes Full Self-Driving. This update was spotted as being sent to Chuck Cook’s Cybertruck.
Moreover, as part of Tesla’s September roadmap, they also released End-to-End on Highway, as part of this Cybertruck FSD 12.5.5 debut.
End to End Highway refers to a feature within its Full Self-Driving (FSD) system that uses a single neural network to handle all driving tasks on highways. Previously FSD on the highway was using V11 code but now it does not. This approach allows the vehicle to manage complex driving scenarios such as lane changes, merges, exits, and highway interchanges more fluidly and autonomously.
2024.32.20 release notes for Cybertruck are below (via @DirtyTesla):
FSD (Supervised) v12.5.5
FSD (Supervised) v12 upgrades the city-streets driving stack to a single end-to-end neural network trained on millions of video clips, replacing over 300k lines of explicit C++ code.
- Includes vision-based attention monitoring with sunglasses
- Includes End to End on Highway
Upcoming Improvements:
- Earlier and more natural lane change decisions
- Improved performance in parking lots
- Improved performance at intersections and stops
- Introduction of Speed Profile
Note: This is an early access build. You and anyone you authorize must use additional caution and remain attentive. It does not make your vehicle autonomous. Do not become complacent.
