Air France Partners with Starlink for Free In-Flight Wi-Fi
Air France is set to introduce a new ultra-high-speed onboard Wi-Fi service starting in 2025, providing passengers with a seamless “ground-like” internet experience.
This free service will be available across all travel cabins and accessible by logging into a Flying Blue account, the airline’s loyalty program. The rollout will progressively cover all Air France aircraft, replacing the current Wi-Fi offering.
The airline has partnered with SpaceX’s Starlink, a global leader in satellite connectivity, to provide stable and fast internet access, even in remote areas. Passengers will be able to stay connected, stream content, and use multiple devices at once, including smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
Air France will begin installing the new technology on its fleet in summer 2025, including regional aircraft. Until then, passengers on aircraft not yet equipped will continue to have access to the current Wi-Fi service, with free messaging for Flying Blue members and additional paid options.
Again, Starlink continues to be adopted by major airlines similar to Tesla’s North American Charging Standard being chosen by automakers. It’s clear Starlink is the best satellite internet service available today and there’s no other competitor yet.
