Tesla China Continues to Deliver Strong Q3 Insurance Registrations

Tesla continues to show strong performance in China as the company reported a total of 14,300 insurance registrations for the week of September 16 to 22, despite a national holiday during the period. Tesla China’s insured units for the month of September are as follows (via @Tslachan):

  • September 1-8: 16,200 units
  • September 9-15: 15,600 units
  • September 16-22: 14,300 units

Tesla China also delivered 5,100 Model 3s in the past week alone.

In addition, Tesla’s Shanghai Superfactory is now producing a finished car approximately every 30 seconds, highlighting its manufacturing efficiency. That’s pretty crazy. Tesla China is selling every car being made as there’s no need for a storage lot.

Roland Pircher, an industry analyst, noted that Tesla’s insurance registrations in China are up by 19.9% quarter-over-quarter and 18.5% year-over-year, making this quarter the company’s best yet in terms of growth after 12 weeks. Year-to-date figures show a 2.0% increase year-over-year, signaling continued momentum for Tesla in one of its key markets.

Tesla’s strong Q3 performance in China reaffirms its position as a leader in the luxury electric vehicle market. Let’s await Tesla’s final Q3 numbers soon, coming shortly after the end of this month.
