2024.27.20 Release Notes: Tesla FSD 12.5.4, ASS Gets Bigger
Tesla has started rolling out its 2024.27.20 software update and it brings a new version of Full Self-Driving (FSD), with 12.5.4 now available.
But more importantly, Actually Smart Summon (ASS) has increased in size, comparable to a “BBL”. Range is now way bigger at 279 feet (85 metres), letting you send your Tesla to you in a parking lot. If Summon is being used for more than 7.5 minutes, your Tesla will automatically park itself.

Actually Smart Summon (ASS)
Actually Smart Summon allows your vehicle to come to you or move to a location you set via the Tesla mobile app.
- COME TO ME: Press and hold to have your Tesla come to you.
- GO TO TARGET: Set a destination and press and hold to send the car on its way.
ASS and Dumb Summon should be used only in parking lots or driveways. Always monitor the vehicle’s surroundings. You are responsible for your vehicle, so stop it if needed. Requires the Tesla mobile app version 4.37.0 or later.

- Use without continuous press.
FSD (Supervised) v12.5.4
Full Self-Driving (Supervised) version 12 upgrades the city-streets driving stack to an end-to-end neural network trained on millions of video clips. This update replaces over 300,000 lines of explicit C++ code. Includes vision-based attention monitoring with sunglasses.
