
Tesla China recorded 16,200 insurance registrations for the week of September 2-8, according to local data shared by @Tslachan.
This marks a significant improvement from the previous week’s 14,400 units, contributing to a strong third quarter performance.
Analyst Roland Pircher noted that Tesla China’s latest figures represent a 25.2% increase quarter-over-quarter, a 15.5% rise year-over-year, and a 7.6% gain compared to Q4 2023, making it the best quarter after 10 weeks. Year-to-date, Tesla China is up 0.2% compared to last year, and the company posted its highest 10th week of any quarter to date.
Tesla China has now surpassed its sales from the previous year, reflecting robust demand in the market. CEO Elon Musk said recently Giga Shanghai is operating at max capacity.
To maintain a positive year-to-date performance, Tesla needs to secure 6,300 units in the next reporting week. These results highlight Tesla China’s continued growth and strong market presence heading into the final stretch of the year.
