Tesla Plans FSD Launch in Europe and China in Q1 and More [Timeline]

Tesla’s AI team has announced its release roadmap for upcoming Full Self-Driving (FSD) updates, detailing significant improvements and new features expected through early 2025.

The big news is Tesla plans to launch FSD in China and Europe in Q1 2025, but of course, pending government approval. When FSD 12.5.2 is released it will be unified for AI3 (HW3) and AI4 (HW4) vehicles.

It’s going to be exciting to also see new FSD driving features unpark, park and reverse functions in October. Meanwhile, FSD 13 will launch next month as well.

September 2024 Updates:

  • Version 12.5.2: Expected to triple the miles between necessary interventions.
  • AI3 Computer Integration: Unified models for AI3 and AI4 computers.
  • New Features: Actually Smart Summon, Cybertruck Autopark, and Cybertruck FSD capabilities.
  • Enhanced Eye-Tracking: Works with sunglasses.
  • End-to-End Network: Full highway integration.

October 2024 Updates:

  • New Driving Capabilities: Unpark, park, and reverse functions in FSD mode.
  • Version 13: Aims to achieve six times the current miles between interventions.

Q1 2025 Plans:

  • FSD Rollout in Europe and China: Pending regulatory approval.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk later added, “Hopefully, [right hand drive] markets in late Q1, early Q2, pending regulatory approval,” giving hope to markets like Australia and New Zealand. As everyone’s saying, buckle up folks, the FSD updates are coming in hot and heavy.
