Tesla’s referral program is back, baby. The Tesla North America account on X announced today you can now, “earn $500 by giving anyone $1000 off a new Tesla.” This includes Model S/X and Model 3/Y, but not Cybertruck.
The money back “can be used toward Supercharging, software upgrades, merchandise, service payments or a new Tesla.”
For now, it seems the referral program has launched first in the USA, but should eventually reach Canada and beyond. The previous Refer and Earn program ended on April 30, 2024. Tesla CEO Elon Musk did say that it was going to come back and here it is.
Tesla’s referral program offers benefits for first-time buyers, existing customers, and those who refer new customers. First-time buyers can earn benefits by purchasing a qualifying Tesla product using a referral link. Existing customers can earn loyalty benefits by purchasing additional Tesla products through their Tesla Account.
Referral credits are awarded when friends use your referral link for their first Tesla purchase or demo drive, but both the buyer and the referrer must meet specific conditions. The program’s terms, including credit values and offers, may change without notice, and used vehicle purchases are not eligible. Benefits and credits are managed through the Tesla app, which was updated today, as version 4.36.1 or higher is required.
Those referring friends and family can only refer up to 10 times max in a calendar year. This return of the program ahead of Q4 will likely help Tesla push up sales.
