Tesla FSD 12.5 for HW3 Arrives for Employee Cars, Says Report

Earlier this week, Tesla released its update 2024.26.15, featuring Full Self-Driving (FSD) version 12.5.1.4, now available for hardware 3 (HW3) vehicles.

This marks the first time HW3 vehicles have received FSD 12.5, after a slight delay from the initially promised timeline. Although the public rollout may start with hardware 4 (HW4) vehicles to ensure stability, HW3 support is now confirmed, reports Not a Tesla App.

Currently, HW3 vehicles run FSD version 12.3.6, while most HW4 vehicles are on version 12.5.1.3. FSD 12.5 brings significant improvements, though this update focuses primarily on adding HW3 compatibility. Future updates in the 12.5 series are expected to introduce new features, such as improved lane changes and Actually Smart Summon.

This update is part of Tesla’s 2024.26 code branch, which also includes new features from the “Summer Update,” such as YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and Parental Controls. Tesla is already testing the next update, 2024.32.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said last month it was going to be about “10 days” for HW3 owners to get FSD 12.5. But that timeline has come and gone. Now it seems those HW3 owners nervous about not getting the update can seemingly rest assured as it appears FSD 12.5 is finally coming. Stay tuned.
