Tesla’s recently announced partnership with Costco in Taiwan has been abruptly canceled by CEO Elon Musk.
The promotion, which was set to run for two weeks, offered Tesla vehicles for sale at Costco stores with special incentives for the first 50 buyers, including 5,000 km (3,100 miles) of free Supercharger credits and a Type 2 charger case for travel.
Despite the initial announcement, Musk responded to an X post by Farzad, who had shared Sawyer Merritt’s news about the deal, stating, “I just canned this program. Was not approved.”
The updated Model 3 launched in Taiwan earlier this year.
Well, when the big boss steps in, you know this program was not approved for sale. No word if a Costco hot dog was going to be included with the special promo.
