Today, the Irvine Police Department hinted at a major upgrade to their fleet on social media, announcing, “Coming soon to Irvine Police—Cybertruck.” The image shared resembles the UP.FIT Cybertruck police vehicle, previously introduced by Unplugged Performance.

Unplugged Performance, through its UP.FIT division, recently unveiled the first-ever Tesla Cybertruck modified for police use. This innovative vehicle has generated significant interest from law enforcement agencies nationwide since it was first teased in December.

UP.FIT, recognized for its expertise in customizing Teslas for fleet use, has transformed the Cybertruck’s platform for specialized applications by police, fire departments, military, and tactical response units. The UP.FIT Cybertruck sets a new benchmark for safety, efficiency, and innovation in first-responder vehicles.

The UP.FIT Cybertruck integrates Tesla’s advanced electric vehicle technology with Unplugged Performance’s modification expertise, featuring essential equipment such as warning lights, sirens, a PA system, and upgraded radio and computer systems. Customization options include prisoner partitions, weapon storage, K9 enclosures, specialized wheels, off-road enhancements, and Starlink internet connectivity.

Unplugged Performance’s UP.FIT division also offers enhanced electrification, infrastructure planning, consulting, and fleet management services. They provide technical training and certification for departments to improve their knowledge and maintenance skills, including hands-on experiences for field-training officers and technical staff.

Deliveries of the Cybertruck Next-Gen Patrol vehicle are expected to begin in late 2024.
