Tesla owner Chuck Cook, known for his extensive testing of Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology, has reported recent activity of Tesla vehicles validating a particularly challenging unprotected left turn in his Jacksonville, Florida, neighborhood.
On July 15, Cook shared an update on social media stating, “I am back from my trip I have an update for all of you. The @Tesla ADAS Operators are out driving on my first day back. So perhaps this is validation of a new version. Possibly SFSD v12.4.5. @TeslaAI.”
In response, Tesla CEO Elon Musk clarified the version being tested, stating simply, “12.5,” indicating that the vehicles were running FSD version 12.5, not 12.4.5 as Cook speculated.
Currently, FSD 12.4.3 (part of 2024.15.15 software) is available to testers and has some mixed reviews.
In related news, Musk recently confirmed a delay in Tesla’s Robotaxi event. Originally scheduled for August 8, 2024, the event has been postponed due to a request for a design change. A new date for the event has yet to be announced.
