Tesla has announced an extension for its Full Self-Driving (FSD) transfer program. Initially set to end on August 31, 2024, the program will now cover all orders delivered before September 30, 2024, according to a statement from Tesla North America on July 2.
“Extending to all orders delivered before 9/30,” Tesla stated, offering an additional month for free FSD transfers. This extension means that all of Q3 will include the option for free FSD transfers, providing an incentive for Tesla owners with older models to upgrade their vehicles.
This program allows owners who previously paid for FSD to transfer the feature to a new Tesla vehicle at no extra cost, instead of repurchasing the software. The move is expected to encourage upgrades among long-time Tesla owners.
